Last week Skybound Entertainment introduced they’ve acquired the rights to create comics based mostly on Hasbro’s Transformers and G.I. Joe properties. Among the forthcoming titles in the Skybound “Energon Universe” is Transformers from acclaimed author & artist Daniel Warren Johnson. This week Skybound has been teasing by way of social media the lineup of Autobots who will seem in the series, and immediately the writer revealed the full line-up, which is able to embrace Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Cliffjumper, Arcee, and Wheeljack. Decepticons are set to be revealed subsequent week.
Here’s how Skybound describes the forthcoming Transformers series:
Optimus Prime was purported to have led the Autobots to victory. Instead, the destiny of Cybertron is unknown, and his allies have crash-landed removed from residence, alongside their enemies—the Decepticons. As these titanic forces renew their conflict on Earth, one factor is instantly clear: the planet won’t ever be the identical. New alliances are struck. Battle traces are redrawn. And humanity’s solely hope for survival is Optimus Prime.
The staff shot of the Autobots is the most recent piece of art work revealed for the challenge. An illustration by Daniel Warren Johnson and colorist Mike Spicer of Optimus Prime was launched as half of final week’s announcement.
Notably absent from the lineup is Jetfire, the Transformer who appeared out of the blue in final week’s Void Rivals #1. That look ended with Jetfire rocketing off of an unknown alien world, apparently headed for Cybertron. The destiny of the Transformers’ residence world will probably decide in what capability Jetfire reveals up in the brand new series.
Which Autobots are you stunned didn’t make the preliminary minimize? And which Decepticons are you hoping to see revealed subsequent week? Let us know in the feedback, and maintain a watch out for the Decepticon announcement subsequent week.
Transformers #1 is due out from Image and Skybound in shops and digitally on Wednesday, October 4th.
