Members of WGA West confirmed solidarity for resort staff over the past 24 hours by becoming a member of their downtown protest over low pay and restricted advantages.
Members of United Here Local 11, which represents greater than 32,000 resort staff in Southern California and Arizona, are preventing for raises. They walked off the job Sunday.
They have been quickly joined on the picket line by WGA negotiating committee members David Goodman, Ashley Gable and Chris Keyser. The trio joined the picketing resort staff in Santa Monica Sunday.
The union has been negotiating for a brand new contract since April, in response to the Los Angeles Times. They desire a $5 hourly wage enhance enhance now and a $3 enhance yearly for 3 years. Several WGA picketers tweeted about becoming a member of the opposite union of their battle. Some writers even advised how one can replace their picket indicators to indicate solidarity to the resort staff.
