We all keep in mind the start-up animations from the Wii residence menu, proper? You’d choose a sport, see the icon fill the display after which watch a brief animation (accompanied by music, in fact) whilst you selected whether or not to begin the title or head again to the house web page. We miss them.
For many people, these menu animations are deeply ingrained in our heads for the likes of Smash Bros. Brawl, Skyward Sword and Super Mario Galaxy, however what would issues be like if a few of the Switch’s most interesting titles received the identical remedy? That is the very query that YouTube channel Pineapple Puppy has tried to reply, as they constructed Wii-style menu animations for a complete bunch of Switch video games and now we’re feeling every kind of nostalgic.
The titles span all the Switch catalogue, with the animator making good brief intros for the likes of Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker and lots of extra. You can discover the total video under.
Of course, with so many Switch video games introduced over from older programs, there was sure to be a sure stage of crossover (the Breath of the Wild one is near-identical to the sport’s load display as discovered on the Wii U), however many of those are utterly authentic creations and instantly seize the vibe of the Switch sport with the entire nostalgia of the Wii’s menu model.
Turning again to the Switch goes to really feel slightly quieter now, however let’s hope that the console’s successor carries slightly extra character on its residence menu — or at the least offers us some higher theme choices…
What do you make of those Wii menu mock-ups? Let us know your favourites within the feedback under.
