Meet Me @ The Altar are readying the deluxe version of their debut album, Past // Present // Future, which comes with 4 new tracks. They’ve already shared “Give It Up,” and now the pop-punk trio are again with one other preview forward of its Sept. 29 launch.
“Take Me Away” is a cover from the Disney basic Freaky Friday that Lindsay Lohan performs along with her fictional band Pink Slip at a battle of the bands towards the top of the movie. Here, Meet Me @ The Altar take us again to the 2000s with a model that ups the riffs (and bangs reside).

“Aside from it just being an absolutely iconic moment in pop culture, ‘Take Me Away,’ Pink Slip, and Freaky Friday as a whole had a lot of influence over us growing up,” the band say. “It’s everything we love all meshed into one — female representation in punk music, and on screen! Being able to pay homage to such an endless well of inspiration to us was really gratifying. It really takes you back to an era that I think we all miss.”
