The alleged listing of candidates which incorporates Grammy Award winner, Burna Boy for nationwide honours being handed round by a number of web media shops has been referred to as fraudulent by the Federal Government as of Monday.
Over the weekend, a variety of names that have been allegedly on the listing of Nigerians who will obtain nationwide awards have been extensively reported within the Nigerian media.
However, the listing of nominations has drawn criticism, significantly concerning the degree of these up for honours. The listing of nominees has now gone viral on the Internet.
However, the federal government rejected the listing in an announcement issued by Julie Jacobs, Director of Press for the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, claiming that the listing could be made public on the correct time and thru the suitable media.
She urged most of the people to disregard the listing since it’s an effort by overzealous reporters who need to break information, even whether it is false, within the transient assertion she offered to The PUNCH.

“The consideration of the Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs has been drawn to a purported listing of nominees for National Honours being circulated by some on-line media organisations.
“While it’s true that President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR, will probably be conferring National Honours on deserving Nigerians and buddies of Nigeria on eleventh October 2022, the genuine listing of nominees is but to be launched to the general public. The Federal Ministry of Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs will publish the listing on the acceptable time and medium.
“Members of the public are hereby enjoined to discountenance the list in circulation as it is an attempt by overzealous reporters whose aim is to break news even when such news is fake.”
According to the listing, Burna Boy is supposed to be honoured with Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR)
