
Afrobeats and mavin music Superstars Rema and Ayra Starr songs ranked fifth and ninth as the highest 10 streaming songs of 2023 respectively in France.
According to the National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing(S.N.E.P) Rema and Ayra Starr songs ‘Calm Down‘ and ‘Rush‘ took the Fifth and ninth place for Top 10 streaming songs of 2023. The first place was taken by Miley Cyrus ‘Flowers‘.
Rema‘s ‘Raves & Roses‘ and Aya Nakamura‘s ‘Aya‘ took the 73rd and 186th place for Top 200 albums of 2023.

The National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing(S.N.E.P) shared through Instagram the rankings saying,
“With 17 of the 20 best-selling albums of 2023 the public plebiscites this year again projects of artists produced in France – and singing in French – all generations and musical styles mixed up, with a special mention for rap that dominates the head of this ranking. Congratulations to the artists, the teams working alongside them, and thank you to the fans for their commitment and loyalty!”.
The official Charts UK introduced their 40 Biggest Songs of the 12 months 2023, and Rema‘s Calm Down was the highest-ranked African music on the chart. Ayra Star obtained her first Grammy Award nomination within the Best African Music Performance class. Ayra Starr was recognised for her lead single, Rush, as she was nominated alongside Burna Boy, Davido, Tyla, Olamide and Asake.
