Next week AHOY Comics will launch Highball #2. The second problem of the sci-fi comedy collection comes from author Stuart Moore, artist Fred Harper, colorist Lee Loughridge, and letterer Rob Steen. The collection follows the titular Highball, ace Star Corp pilot and extremely useful alcoholic, who is simply in a position to swoop in and save the day when he’s fully sh*tfaced. Today The Beat is happy to current a preview of the upcoming subsequent problem of the collection, which finds our hero nonetheless haunted by his encounter final problem with Shhh’kkk’reeeeeeeee of the Q’ok’q’rr’kkk.
Here’s how AHOY describes Highball #2:
Highball and his fellow area pilots journey to the sanctum of the Mentok, alien rulers of humanity, the place they be taught… nothing, as typical. They simply blow a bunch of stuff up! Plus, the thriller of the captain deepens. Wait, is that even a factor? I can’t keep in mind.
As with all AHOY Comics choices, Highball #2 contains materials past the important characteristic from Moore, Harper, and associates. Also included in the problem are a couple of new “Duffeeee” strips from cartoonist Chris Duffy, in addition to two prose tales, “Life in the Chute” by Kirk Vanderbeek, with an illustration by Peter Bagge, and “The Voice of AHOY” by Hanna Bahedry, with an illustration from an 1881 problem of Harper’s New Monthly Magazine by an unknown artist.
