Kansas City disc jockey Lisa Lopez-Galvan was killed within the capturing on the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade.
In a press release on its Facebook web page, KKFI 90.1 FM confirmed Lopez-Galvan’s demise, remarking that the “senseless act has taken a beautiful person from her family and this KC community.”
Lopez-Galvan, a mom of two, co-hosted “Taste of Tejano” for KKFI since March 2022.
“It is with sincere sadness and an extremely heavy and broken heart that we let our community know that KKFI DJ Lisa Lopez, host of Taste of Tejano lost her life today in the shooting at the KC Chiefs’ rally. Our hearts and prayers are with her family,” the assertion reads. “We encourage anyone who feels they saw something to reach out to law enforcement at 816 234 5111.”
A followup message urges listeners, family and friends to “please keep our Lisa and the Lopez family in your prayers.”
A personal cell DJ for greater than 15 years, the bilingual Lopez-Galvan performed “for all types of crowds,” reads a press release from KKFI, carried “plenty of music knowledge” and was a lifelong music fan. “For Lisa music is life and a source of happiness,” reads her biog.
Earlier, officers reported that one particular person died and at the least 21 others have been wounded within the incident west of Union Station, which occurred in direction of the tip of a parade in Kansas City, Mo, celebrating the Chiefs’ win within the Super Bowl final weekend. According to reviews, police detained three suspects.
An announcement from the Chiefs reads, “We are truly saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside of Union Station at the conclusion of today’s parade and rally. Our hearts go out to the victims, their families and all of Kansas City.” All of the franchise’s gamers, coaches, employees and their households are stated to be “safe and accounted for.”
Several hospitals within the space handled the wounded, together with eight with “immediately” life-threatening accidents and 7 with life-threatening accidents, in accordance with the Kansas City Fire Department.
