Shadow of Death is a companion novel to the Gems of Fire collection. It’s the backstory of Jack, who’s Anna’s love curiosity. When writing the opposite books, I stored in depth notes for Jack’s character, and I made a decision that the story of his life earlier than he met Anna wanted to be advised. It brings larger depth and richness to the general collection and helps the reader perceive his motivations and heart-wrenching selections later. I fell in love with him over again!
