Since their inception, Ice Nine Kills have drawn on blood and horror to create theatric music. Naturally, frontman Spencer Charnas has introduced that creativity to the graphic novel world, due to Z2 Comics.
Now, Charnas has teamed up with co-writer Ryan J. Downey and artists Giorgia Sposito and Nino Cammarata for a brand-new story of crime and carnage. Titled Inked in Blood II: Once Upon A Crime, the venture serves as a sequel to the 2021 horror thriller, Inked in Blood.

Inked in Blood II introduces Charnas’ an identical twin brother Max, who plans to destroy his sibling by any means mandatory. Set at the Silver Scream Con, a horror conference that debuted final August in the band’s residence state of Massachusetts, serial killers and doppelgängers minimize free — and it’s anybody’s guess who’ll make it out alive.
“I’m bloody honored that Spencer asked me to take a stab at telling this story with him,” Downey mentioned in a press release. “He’s one of my favorite people, even if I half expect to find him lurking outside my window some rainy night.”
Additionally, Mike Cortada, who designed the sinister album paintings behind Ice Nine Kills’ final two studio albums, The Silver Scream and The Silver Scream 2: Welcome to Horrorwood, illustrated the quilt artwork.
