Japan’s Summer Sonic Festival has introduced the primary part of its 2023 version lineup, with Kendrick Lamar and Blur named as headliners.
The Compton hip hop artist shall be joined by multi-instrumentalist Thundercat, Liam Gallagher, Fall Out Boy, Evanescence, Japanese duo YOASOBI, and extra on August 18 at ZOZOMarine Stadium & Makuhari Messe in Tokyo and August 19 at Maishima SONIC PARK (Maishima Sports Island) in Osaka. More artists are set to be introduced at a later date.
Lamar kicked off his 84-stop The Big Steppers Tour in 2022 in help of his critically acclaimed 5th album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, with Summer Sonic included within the 4th leg of the tour, his solely cease in Asia.
Last yr’s sold-out Summer Sonic was the primary time the pageant returned since 2019 resulting from pandemic restrictions. It was headlined by The 1975, Post Malone, St. Vincent, Carly Rae Jepsen, and Megan Thee Stallion, amongst others.
Advance tickets for Summer Sonic will go on sale beginning on February 14 through their official web site at JPY18,500 for a one-day ticket and JPY34,000 for a two-day ticket, tax included.
