Elton John will belatedly rejoice the fiftieth anniversary of Honky Chateau by releasing an expanded model of the album on March twenty fourth.
Originally launched in May of 1972, Honky Chateau was John’s first chart-topping album, and options the hit singles “Rocket Man” and “Honky Cat.” It was named after the eighteenth century Château d’Herouville exterior Paris the place it was recorded, and was the primary to function John’s stay band – guitarist Davey Johnstone, bassist Dee Murray and drummer Nigel Olsson – on each tune.
