Well, that was fast: The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that James Mangold is in talks to tackle the Swamp Thing film at DC Studios. Mangold teased his involvement with the DC Comics property with a submit on his official Twitter web page on Wednesday morning.
During the DC Universe slate reveal, James Gunn and Peter Safran stated that the Swamp Thing film investigates “the dark origins” of the DC Comics icon, who made his fist look within the pages of 1971’s House of Secrets #92. He was created by author Len Wein and artist Bernie Wrightson.
A Swamp Thing sequence premiered on on the short-lived DC Universe community in May 2019, with the challenge being axed just a few months later. It was created by Gary Dauberman and Mark Verheiden, with Andy Bean and Crystal Reed co-starring and Derek Mears bringing Swamp Thing to life.
The way forward for the DC Universe
James Gunn and Peter Safran informed journalists that their imaginative and prescient for the DC Universe consists of locked scripts, wiggle room and a unified storyline throughout movie, teleivsion, animation and online game tasks. The two defined that the DC Universe may deliver again parts from earlier DC regimes, that means that their eight-to-year plan shouldn’t be a full reboot.
