Well, I suppose the story of House of the Dragon isn’t going to resolve neatly after this primary batch of episodes…
Days after the first season of the Game of Thrones premiered to what HBO described as its largest sequence premiere in the channel’s complete historical past, with 9.986 million viewers on each cable and HBO Max streaming, it has formally renewed the present for a second season. In a press launch asserting Season 2, the firm notes that a couple of days later “the first episode has now been seen by over 20 million viewers across linear, On Demand and HBO Max platforms in the U.S.”
Here was HBO’s official assertion on the information:
We are past proud of what the complete HOUSE OF THE DRAGON group has completed with season one. Our phenomenal solid and crew undertook a large problem and exceeded all expectations, delivering a present that has already established itself as must-see-TV. An enormous thanks to George, Ryan, and Miguel for main us on this journey. We couldn’t be extra excited to proceed bringing to life the epic saga of House Targaryen with season two.
The sequence, based mostly on the books by George R.R. Martin, is the first TV spinoff from HBO’s massively in style Game of Thrones tv sequence; it’s set about 200 years previous to the occasions chronicled on the earlier Game of Thrones present. Season 1 of the present stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans — though there’s no assure all or any of their character will survive by means of Season 2.
New episodes of House of the Dragon air weekly on Sundays on HBO and HBO Max.
