By all accounts, Quinta crushed it as she mirrored on her personal come-up. “I wanted to be on SNL back in the day, but the audition process seemed long — so instead, I just created my own TV show, made sure it became really popular, won a bunch of Emmys, and then got asked to host,” she joked.
She then talked just a little about Abbott Elementary, saying that it is “a network sitcom like, say, Friends.”
“Except, as a substitute of being a couple of group of associates, it’s a couple of group of lecturers. Instead of New York, it’s in Philadelphia — and as a substitute of not having Black individuals, it does.”
Quinta additionally talked about how her personal mom, who was a trainer, impressed her to create Abbott Elementary — and she or he very essentially advocated for higher pay for lecturers, and extra respect for them, too.
“Please, remember how important teachers are. Acknowledge the work they do every day and for the love of God, pay them the money they deserve.”
