AMC has introduced a 3rd collection that they’re creating that can be set in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe, and that present can be set in the world of the Talamasca. The two collection which are at the moment operating embrace Interview with a Vampire and Mayfair Witches. Those exhibits should be fairly profitable if they’re launching a brand new one!
The collection is about in the Talamasca, which is “a secretive organization featured in a number of Rice’s iconic novels that is devoted to studying the supernatural world and keeping mortals safe from its darkest elements.” There are no other details on the story, but this should make for an interesting series! Talamasca was introduced in Mayfair Witches through the character Ciprien Grieve (Tongayi Chirisa).
John Lee Hancock (The Blind Side, The Highwayman, and The Founder) is set to serve as writer and showrunner of the series. He’s a talented filmmaker, and I’m sure that he’ll do some fun things with the show and the story he’s looking to tell.
The announcement was made by Dan McDermott, president of entertainment and AMC Studios for AMC Networks, during the AMC Networks upfront presentation in New York. He said:
“The enthusiastic critical and fan reception to ‘Interview’ and ‘Mayfair’ is a great sign of what is yet to come in this immersive universe based on the works of Anne Rice. We’re excited to be in active development of the next installment in this growing franchise, written and to be showrun by the incomparable John Lee Hancock. The Talamasca is one of the most intriguing elements of Rice’s works and a connective thread through so many of her stories, the standalone and crossover potential for this third series is immense.”
Have you been watching the Interview with a Vampire and Mayfair Witches? Have you enjoyed the shows? Are you looking forward to this new one?
