You Wouldn’t Have Dominated Afrobeats If We Didn’t Split – P-Square Fires Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy » Naijaloaded

The duo of Paul and Peter Okoye of P-Square fame have claimed that if it wasn’t for his or her separation, the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy and others wouldn’t have dominated the afrobeats music scene.

The twin musical duo acknowledged that they dominated the Nigerian and African music scene for almost 14 years till they briefly disbanded in 2016, giving method for others to shine.

P-Square appeared on a latest episode of The 77 Podcast.

Reacting to claims that afrobeats gained world recognition once they had been aside, Peter stated, “Says who? They never said that.”

Paul added,

“Let me inform you one thing, I’ve been listening to that. Even in the event that they put it that method, it means a way God has his personal method.

“If we had been there [together in the music industry] these folks [dominant music stars] there would have by no means been gentle for them.

“And don’t forget, we’ve dominated the [Nigerian] music industry for a long time. We held it down for nearly 13,14 years.”
