The Ondo State Police Command on Tuesday stated it had arrested a person, Rafiu Akinwale, over the demise of 1 Prince Adesoji Adesida.

Akinwale, also referred to as ‘Slow’, who is alleged to be a member of the Oodua Peoples Congress, allegedly pushed Adesida whereas the latter was making an attempt to settle a combat between the suspect and his girlfriend at a funeral held on the International Cultural and Event Centre, in Akure, the state capital on Friday.

It was gathered that the deceased noticed Akinwale beating up his (Akinwale) girlfriend whom he accused of gathering a phone quantity from one other man on the ceremony.

“He was immediately rushed to a hospital where he was confirmed dead. But the man (Akinwale) has been arrested by the police.”

The Police Public Relations Officer within the state, Funmilayo Odunlami, confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect.
