“A romantic time travel story with a Solstice twist. An unexpected time leap (courtesy of a bit of Solstice magic) brings a woman the love she’d thought was impossible — but will she stay more than a century in the past?”
Who wants a person of their life? I don’t. I’ve thrown myself into my job as a docent on the historic Danforth Ranch — main excursions in a delightfully swishy Victorian costume, regaling vacationers with true tales of Carson Valley within the Eighteen Eighties. Everything’s high-quality, with the potential exception of my coronary heart. Which I’ve stuffed firmly in a field marked “Do not open.”
Until — an historic mirror, a particular picture, and a little bit of Solstice magic sweep me again in time. Instead of dealing with off with a tour group within the parlor of the historic mansion, I’m immediately face-to-face with the actual Josiah Danforth. A widower who thinks I’m there to use for a job as his housekeeper.
With life within the twenty first Century now in my previous – his future – I’m pressured to play a job I by no means skilled for. Whipping up dinner on a wood-fueled cookstove? Check. Battling a homicidal rooster? Check. Laundry sans electrical energy? Let’s simply say I’ll by no means take microwaves or scorching showers as a right once more. If I ever do discover a method again to my very own century.
The plain attraction brewing between me and Josiah has labored its personal model of candy magic. Not to say heat hugs from his motherless little women. But I already know from historical past precisely how Josiah’s story will play out – after tragically shedding his first spouse, he’s destined to stay a bachelor endlessly. So what future may we presumably construct collectively? Even if that impenetrable field round my coronary heart is as long-gone as my final actual manicure. I simply want to determine the magic of reversing the Solstice’s allure. And after I do, there’s no method I’m staying put in 1885.
Or is there? Josiah’s particular model of magic simply may change my thoughts.
Author’s Note: Charity and Josiah’s story is a clear, swoony time-travel romance with a hard-muscled, wood-chopping rancher hero; a feisty, tackle-anything heroine, and a gradual burn dilemma that forces them each to stretch for his or her candy, satisfying happily-ever-after.
