The video has since gone viral with over 2.3 million views and the tweet’s been seen over 6.5 million instances with over 43,000 Likes.
Elena Stern, a senior public info director for the Department of Public Works in Los Angeles, instructed NBC News that it was not a pothole.
It’s a “service trench that relates to active, permitted work being performed at the location by SoCal Gas, who expects the work to be completed by the end of May.”
