Aston Villa forward Rachel Daly has been handed a three-match suspension after admitting a cost of violent conduct, the Football Association has introduced.
The England worldwide appeared to catch Bristol City midfielder Amy Rodgers within the face along with her arm late within the first half of Villa’s 2-2 Women’s Super League draw with the Robins on the Poundland Bescot Stadium on Saturday.
A press release from the FA stated: “Rachel Daly has been suspended for three matches following Aston Villa Women’s sport towards Bristol City Women within the Women’s Super League on Saturday February 3.

“Her behaviour through the thirty ninth minute wasn’t seen by the match officers on the time, however it was caught on digital camera, and the FA alleged that it constitutes violent conduct.
“Rachel Daly subsequently admitted this charge and accepted the automatic penalty for violent conduct.”
The ban guidelines Daly out of Villa’s League Cup quarter-final towards Brighton on Wednesday, plus WSL conferences with Tottenham and Liverpool.
The 32-year-old was the WSL Golden Boot winner with 22 objectives for Villa final time period, and has netted six occasions within the league – 14 in all competitions – for the membership to this point within the 2023-24 marketing campaign.
