Barcelona have confirmed Jordi Cruyff will depart Camp Nou this summer season after two years as sporting director.
Cruyff left Chinese facet Shenzhen in September 2021 to hyperlink up with Barcelona president Joan Laporta and has since performed a big position within the membership’s switch enterprise.
His contract expires in the summertime and Barcelona have now confirmed the Dutchman has chosen to not lengthen his keep in Catalonia.
“FC Barcelona sporting director Jordi Cruyff will not be renewing his contract at the end of the current season due to his wish to embark on new professional endeavours,” Barcelona mentioned in a press release.
“He announced his decision this Tuesday morning to president Joan Laporta at an emotional meeting in which he explained that after two years in his position, he is leaving to face new challenges.

Fellow director Mateu Alemany has also confirmed his imminent exit from Barcelona, vowing to complete all his pending business before walking away.
Alemany, who cited a desire for a ‘new professional project’ when explaining his exit, is expected to join Aston Villa.
