Belgian goalkeeper Arne Espeel died after he collapsed on the pitch on Saturday, moments after saving a penalty for his staff. He was 25.
Winkel Sport B, who play within the second provincial division of West Brabant in Belgium, have been 2-1 up towards Westrozebeke when their opponents have been awarded a penalty within the second half.
According to stories in Belgian media, Espeel saved the spot kick however dropped to the bottom afterward. Emergency providers rushed to assist Espeel and tried to revive him with a defibrillator, however he was pronounced useless shortly after he was taken to hospital.
