Wizkid has set a brand new document as his ‘Made In Lagos’ album turns into the primary by an African artiste to be licensed gold by the Recording Industry Association of America within the U.S.
The RIAA, initially conceived to honour artistes and observe sound recording gross sales, now stands as a benchmark of success for artistes, with the Gold & Platinum Awards.
‘Made In Lagos’ was licensed gold on August 25, 2022, after promoting over 500,000 copies within the United States, making him the primary African artiste to ever obtain such a feat.
Although the award-winning album, launched October 29, 2020, is the primary licensed gold, quite a lot of African artistes have had their singles licensed gold by the RIAA.
