This week sees a slate of new films arriving on streaming platforms and VOD. There’s the Brad Pitt motion movie set on a prepare, Bullet Train, from director David Leitch (John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2), coming to Netflix this Saturday. There’s comic Billy Eichner’s homosexual rom-com Bros, making its streaming debut on Peacock.

There’s a lot extra, too — Norwegian monster movie Troll, the wonderful little horror movie A Wounded Fawn on Shudder, and the standard group of new Christmas films that come every week this time of 12 months.

Fights in Bullet Train are temporary and filled with character, with blows within the place of (or alongside) quips and Jackie Chan-esque prop work. And the amoral Emily would match proper in with Mann’s roster of hardened professionals. Like James Caan in Thief, she’s good at what she does. But in contrast to with Caan’s disillusioned safecracker, her legal profession is simply starting, and the frenzy of realizing she does have what it takes is each thrilling and validating for a personality who beforehand felt life had nothing to supply her however drudgery and debt. The distinction right here is, Michael Mann has by no means written such a juicy position for a lady.
