If you’ve performed video video games like Gears of War or Fortnite, you’re greater than doubtless accustomed to the work of recreation designer Cliff Bleszinski. Now the online game trade vet will likely be making his comics writing debut this July with Scrapper, a six-issue miniseries from Image Comics. Bleszinski is joined on the sequence by co-writer Alex De Campi and artist Sandy Jarrell.
Pitched by the writer as “Brian K. Vaughan and Niko Henrichon‘s Pride of Baghdad meets Ridley Scott‘s Blade Runner,” right here’s how Image Comics describes the sequence:
Science-Fiction-style action mixes with massive feelings as stray canine Scrapper and his buddy Tank combat for justice towards the totalitarian forces of a post-apocalyptic domed metropolis. But when the combat involves his house, Scrapper will face dropping what’s most essential to him—and acquire a terrifying reality in the method.
Game designer Bleszinski is ecstatic about working in the comics medium and revealed the non-public origins for the undertaking:
“As a lifelong fan of comics it’s an honor to actually create one with Alex. Scrapper comes from the heart; first, the loss of my Aussie Teddy and then finding puppy love again with our Pomsky Lady. I truly hope everyone enjoys this deeply personal work.”
De Campi echoed Bleszinski’s sentiments:
“It’s been a joy to get back to full-bore, edge-of-your seat action writing in a monthly comic, even more so when I get to base it around such a wonderful cast of urban animals as we’ve created in Scrapper. If you have pets you love, or you’ve ever just wanted to pet the dog in a video game, this is the book for you.”
In addition to a major cowl drawn by Juan Ferreyra, two variant covers drawn by Jarrell and Ferreyra will even be obtainable.
Scrapper #1 will arrive at comedian e-book retailers on Wednesday, July nineteenth. Check out the preview artwork under.
