Dame Dash has opened up about why Freeway was the artist that “impressed” him probably the most out of your entire Roc-A-Fella roster.
The Harlem-bred mogul lately sat down for an interview with the Philly rapper on The CEO Show, and gave him his flowers after seeing all that he’s been via out and in of the music enterprise.
“I wanted to publicly give you my blessing as a general. I want everyone to know that if I were to say, ‘Who at Roc-A-Fella has impressed [me] the most?’ it would be you,” Dame instructed Freeway. “Because you been through the most and you’ve done everything on your own. You have not sold your soul, you stayed cool.
“You did records with them, you doing records with me. It’s not a problem, no issues. When you get in a position of power, I see you sharing it. You really want to see your boys do good. You’re a man of your word and that’s the most important thing.”

Dame Dash went on to disclose that Freeway was truly Aaliyah‘s favorite artist on the Roc-A-Fella team.
“You were Aaliyah’s favourite artist on Roc-A-Fella, keep in mind that,” Dame added. “She had a video and I was going out there so she could do the record with you… Because she really fucked with you. Free of charge, the whole nine.”
Freeway replied in shock: “I didn’t know I was her favorite artist. That’s dope.”
The “What We Do” rapper signed to Roc-A-Fella in 2001 as a member of State Property following his look on JAY-Z‘s The Dynasty: Roc La Familia album the year prior.
Last month, Dame Dash revealed he was open to sitting down with Hov and squashing their long-standing beef.
“There’s issues — and I don’t wish to get into it — that morally I can’t be part of,” Dash defined to fellow Roc-A-Fella co-founder Kareem “Biggs” Burke.
“But if [JAY] could just shed all the things that I don’t like morally, and all the people who have done things and are doing things that morally I can’t fuck with, [then] we could fuck with just family.”
