Grateful Dead spinoff group Dead & Company are calling it quits.
In an Instagram put up on Friday, the band, which options John Mayer, Bob Weir, and different former Dead gamers, mentioned that subsequent summer season’s run shall be their final.
“As we put the finishing touches on booking venues, and understanding that word travels fast, we wanted to be the first to let you know that Dead & Company will be hitting the road next summer for what will be our final tour,” the assertion mentioned. “Stay tuned for a full list of dates for what will surely be an exciting, celebratory, and heartfelt last run of shows.”
Dead & Company shaped in 2015 following the Grateful Dead’s last exhibits at Chicago’s Soldier Field. The group didn’t embody Dead bassist Phil Lesh, who continued along with his solo profession. Since then, the band has been taking part in arenas, amphitheaters and stadiums within the summers (and typically fall and winter) ever since. The group performed Dead songs and covers, and by no means recorded any music collectively (that has been launched)
In January, the group will host their Playing within the Sand pageant in Riviera Cancun, Mexico.
