
In a brand new interview, Diego Luna talked extensively about his expertise on Star Wars units. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Luna shared his ideas on Andor and his character’s journey and the depth of the filming course of.
“I always had a feeling that this wasn’t gonna see the light [of day] till it did. I kept going, ‘This is too perfect. This is working,'” Luna stated. (*1*)
Regarding Cassian Andor’s journey in direction of changing into a Rebel hero, Luna defined that though his character stated he wished to be a part of the Rebellion, he wasn’t positive what that meant but. Luna stated, “We’re gonna go for four years [in Season 2], and when we find him, he’s so far away from where we left him at the end of season one. He’s basically the guy to trust for something like that mission.” The second season of Andor is about to discover Cassian Andor’s journey additional.
Despite Cassian Andor’s position in constructing the Death Star that might in the end kill him, Luna stated that he discovered freedom in exploring all of the alternative ways his character may fail and what would make him conflicted and contradictory. “All the layers we didn’t get to see in the film, I get to explore them now,” Luna stated. “So it’s just a perspective kind of thing. The freedom comes from knowing exactly what he does.”
