As if starring within the title function of the upcoming Disney+ sequence Lando wasn’t sufficient, triple-threat Donald Glover might be writing the sequence too.
Initially, the venture was being written by Justin Simien of Dear White People and the brand new Haunted Mansion film. According to Above the Line, Glover and his brother Stephen will write your entire sequence, changing Simien.
When the present was first introduced, it wasn’t made clear which model of Lando would seem within the present — both Billy Dee Williams from the unique movies or Glover from Solo: A Star Wars Story — however they observe that this means we should always anticipate the present to be in regards to the youthful Lando “as it’s unlikely that [Glover’d] write the script for another actor to play the smooth-talking smuggler.”

Simen lately addressed the standing of the Lando present, which was first introduced again in 2020, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter:
I’m connected, I feel, however I don’t actually know. (Laughs.) The last item I used to be informed was that they liked it however wanted to put a pin in it till they may work out everyone’s availability. I haven’t investigated additional, however I’m not an fool. I’m not alone in that have. But I can’t assist however surprise, ‘Am I too Black? Am I too queer? And people just don’t need to say that?’ Because it looks like I develop issues with these corporations and so they simply by no means occur for causes unknown.
Now plainly Simien is out and the Glovers are in. If Donald Glover’s work on the critically-acclaimed Atlanta is something to go off of, it looks like an outstanding match.
Back in April, Glover mentioned of a possible Lando sequence that he was “not interested in doing anything that is going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I would much rather spend time with people I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing, which I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I’d like to hang out with. We’re talking about it. That’s as much as I can say.”
