EXCLUSIVE: DreamWorks Animation is making cuts and slashing 4 p.c of its workers. We perceive that the cuts are because of the downward cyclical flip within the enterprise, rising manufacturing prices and the strikes.
“DreamWorks Animation reduced its workforce by approximately 70 positions,” a DWA spokesperson advised Deadline in an announcement. “Roles affected were across corporate functions, feature, television and technology departments as part of an overall cost-reduction.”
The hope is the studio can flip issues round with the discharge of the third installment of the Trolls film franchise. Trolls Band Together is about to be launched on Nov. 17 with *Nsync reuniting after 22 years to carry out a music for the movie’s soundtrack. Voice actors for the animated movement image embody Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, Camila Cabello, Eric André, Kid Cudi, Troye Sivan, Daveed Diggs, Amy Schumer, RuPaul, Kenan Thompson and extra.
Earlier this 12 months DreamWorks Animation and Netflix partnered for Orion and The Dark, an animated characteristic written by Charlie Kaufman. The characteristic is about to drop on the streamer in 2024. Director is Sean Charmatz, with Peter McCown producing. Exec producers are Walt Dohrn and Bonnie Arnold. Voice solid contains Jacob Tremblay as Orion and Paul Walter Hauser as Dark.
