Cecilie Hollberg — Accademia’s director — gave Carrasquilla and her brood a VIP tour of the place … which, in fact, included an up-close view of Michelangelo’s iconic paintings.
She mentioned internet hosting them was a pleasure, including … “I am happy to be able to welcome her and introduce her to the beauties of our museum, besides showing her the David, a sculpture that, I repeat as I have said, has nothing to do with pornography. It’s a masterpiece, it represents a religious symbol of purity and innocence, the victory of good over evil.”

If you hadn’t heard … Carrasquilla stepped down after mother and father expressed outrage over their youngsters being proven photos of David’s nude physique throughout a lesson plan on the Renaissance in entrance of sixth graders. They felt it was inappropriate, and had been mad they weren’t given a heads-up. In the tip, Carrasquilla took the autumn … telling native media she was “saddened.”
It’s simply the newest occasion of oldsters flexing their rights over their youngsters’s curriculum in public colleges there in Florida … which has been an ongoing subject for just a few years now.
If David’s off the desk for studying … ya gotta marvel what else will go. There’s a whole lot of nudity in historic artwork — particularly in Michelangelo’s physique of labor. Bye-bye, Sistine Chapel?
