“I just met Julia Roberts, she said, ‘Oh my God, I need to find you a boyfriend. I’m invested in this.’ And I said, ‘I can die now. I don’t even need the boyfriend,’” Garcelle recalled. “She said, ‘I need a moment,’ when she saw me and I was like, ‘Are you kidding? I need a moment!’”
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in her personal interview, Julia stated, “[Garcelle] needs a boyfriend. [I don’t have anyone in mind], but I’m gonna be thinking about it all day.”
According to Garcelle, she’s “open to so many things” following the cancellation of The Real.
“I want to produce. I want to spend time with my kids before they go off to college, even though they just started high school. I just want to continue to do what I love to do and that’s being an artist,” she shared. “I do [miss it]. I really felt like that was a niche that we had that we could talk about our community and even though we were women of color, we had different perspectives and different views so I hope I get to do it again one day soon because that’s really the platform I enjoy.”
Although The Real is not any extra, Garcelle remains to be in contact along with her co-hosts, together with Adrienne Bailon-Houghton, who lately welcomed her first little one.
“I was so happy. I was texting her, she was texting me back and I’m like, ‘Why are you texting me back? You should be busy.’ I’m over the moon. Her dream came true,” Garcelle gushed, noting that she hopes to meet the child quickly.
Continuing on, Garcelle revealed what she hopes folks will bear in mind about her personal historical past.
“I think for me, I came from a country that no one expected anything from me and I feel like I’ve lived the American dream,” she stated. “I’ve been able to leave my stamp here and there and I think that’s what being an immigrant is about. We bring something also to the country. It’s not just that we want to take. We also bring, so it’s important for us to be inclusive of all people.”
