Hot off rave evaluations for her newest blockbuster, “The Woman King” helmer Gina Prince-Bythewood is ready to obtain the ACE (American Cinema Editors) Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award. Deadline stories that she’ll obtain the honor at the 73rd annual ACE Eddie Awards held March 5.
Given to “an artist who exemplifies distinguished achievement in the art and business of film,” the Golden Eddie counts “What Women Want” filmmaker Nancy Meyers and Lucasfilm exec Kathleen Kennedy amongst its earlier recipients.

“The Woman King” is now in theaters. Led by Viola Davis, the historic epic follows a bunch of feminine warriors. Prior to “The Woman King,” Prince-Bythewood directed Netflix smash hit “The Old Guard,” an motion pic about immortal mercenaries starring Charlize Theron and KiKi Layne. Her different movies embody “Love & Basketball” and “The Secret Life of Bees.”
The ACE Eddie Awards acknowledge achievement in movie and tv enhancing. Lynne Willingham, whose enhancing credit embody “Breaking Bad” and “The X-Files,” will obtain a Career Achievement honor at the 2023 ceremony.
