Just as Agnes Nutter prophesied, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett‘s world-famous 1990 novel Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch is arriving in an all-new format this summer. No, we’re not speaking in regards to the Amazon collection nor the not too long ago introduced tabletop sport tie-in, Good Omens: An Ineffable Game, scheduled to launch June 5. Instead, we imply the official (and ineffable) graphic novel adaptation from Eisner Award, Ringo Award, and Bram Stoker Award-winning cartoonist Colleen Doran, which can launch solely on Kickstarter this summer time.
On May 24, 2023, the official announcement that the novel, Good Omens, in regards to the delivery of the son of Satan and the approaching of the End Times can be tailored right into a graphic novel was made by the Terry Pratchett Estate, Gaiman, and Doran by way of Twitter. Doran added, “For your amusement, the original cover art line drawing is currently on exhibit at the Society of Illustrator’s Museum exhibit HERE, and has been for over a month. No one guessed it was an official piece. Because we fibbed and said, it was a private commission.”
Doran has beforehand labored with Gaiman on different variations. In 2019, she labored with Gaiman on Dark Horse Comics’ adaptation of his 1994 brief story “Snow, Glass, Apples,” which was described by The Comics Journal as a piece that “solidifies her place as one of the greatest cartoonists of her generation.” For her work on the venture, she gained the Eisner Award for Adaptation from Another Medium. The work additionally earned the Ringo Award for Best Graphic Novel and the Bram Stoker Superior Achievement in a Graphic Novel Award from the Horror Writers Association.
