In celebration of National Library Lover’s Day, the Horror Writers Association (HWA), in partnership with United for Libraries, Book Riot, Booklist, and NoveList®, a division of EBSCO Information Services (EBSCO), is delighted to announce the sixth annual Summer Scares studying record, which incorporates titles chosen by a panel of authors and library employees and is designed to advertise Horror as a nice studying choice for all ages, throughout any time of the yr.

The objective of Summer Scares is to introduce Horror titles to high school and public library employees in an effort to assist them begin conversations with readers that may lengthen past the books from every record and promote studying for years to return. In addition to the annual record of really useful titles, the Summer Scares Programming Guide, created every year by the Springfield-Greene County (MO) Library — and free for libraries anyplace to entry, is again with the instruments libraries want to attach with their patrons.

Booklist helps to kick off Summer Scares 2024 in March with a sequence of three free webinars with this yr’s featured authors in dialog with the committee members:

  • Monday, March 11, 2024, at 4 p.m. Eastern, that includes our Middle Grade authors and moderated by Sarah Hunter
  • Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 2 p.m. Eastern, that includes our Young Adult authors and moderated by Yaika Sabat
  • Monday, March 25, 2024, at 2 p.m. Eastern, that includes our Adult authors and moderated by Clay McLeod Chapman
