Whatever else you consider The Marvels, good, dangerous, or ugly, it has an issue: It actively makes the earlier Marvel Cinematic Universe TV present, Secret Invasion, even worse. It undermines all of that present’s storylines. It overtly contradicts lots of its plot factors and cliffhangers. And it makes it not possible to reconcile the Nick Fury of that present with the man on this new film. While one of the best Marvel movies and collection reward cautious consideration, watching Secret Invasion and The Marvels collectively solely makes them worse.
