“I Abandoned University For Music After Writing JAMB 5 Times”

Mavin Records artiste Crayon has disclosed that he deserted his University training to do music after writing UTME 5 instances.

During an interview with Hip TV, singer Crayon disclosed that he gave up on acquiring a college diploma after writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) 5 instances with no success.

He talked about that on his fifth try to write down the UTME exams on the University of Lagos, he left the paper midway and left the corridor.

He disclosed how he met a good friend of his who was into music known as Baby Fresh. According to Crayon, his good friend was the one who motivated him to pursue his music profession and sacrifice his University training.

(*5*) he mentioned.

“So I sat down with my parents and told them, ‘Mom and Dad, I want to pursue music.’ I explained that it felt like my heart was leading me in that direction. My dad suggested that I give the fifth try a chance, and if it didn’t work out, I could pursue music.”

Crayon disclosed that it was when he had determined to pursue his music profession that he met Don Jazzy who finally signed him on his file label.
