James Gunn has been deep in growth on Peacemaker Season 2. This is certainly one of the many tasks that he’s planning that he jumped again into immediately after taking over the co-CEO position at DC Studios.
When requested by a fan on Threads why Peacemaker Season 2 was a precedence for him, he stated: “Because it’s my favorite thing to do, it’s the biggest original Max show ever, and I have a way in.” The filmmaker went on to handle the entire new DCU factor, saying, “It won’t be confusing.”
When requested if Season 2 of the collection will probably be “totally different” than the first season due to DC’s reboot, Gunn responded, “You’ll have to wait and see how that works out!”
There are not any particulars on the story for Season 2, however Gunn teased his future cameo plans with the upcoming season, saying, “I think we’re going to see more connections in some other stuff as we move forward with Peacemaker and other shows at HBO Max. So those [cameos] will keep coming. I don’t know if the Justice League is going to show up in every season of Peacemaker; that might be a one-time thing. We’ll see!”
The collection stars John Cena as Peacemaker, Steve Agee as Economos, Jennifer Holland as Harcourt, Chukwudi Iwuji as Murn, Danielle Brooks as Adebayo, and Freddie Stroma as Vigilante.
