The administration of the University of Ilorin has expelled 14 college students of the establishment, together with 500 stage college students, for various examination offenses.
In an announcement in Ilorin, the college’s spokesperson, Kunle Akogun, disclosed that the scholars had been expelled for varied established instances of examination malpractice.
According to him, the administration of the establishment accepted their expulsion following the suggestions of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee at its 219th assembly held between January 10 and 11, 2024.
Akogun mentioned the affected college students embrace 400, 500, 300 stage and 100 stage college students.
“The affected college students had been from Faculties/Departments of Agriculture/Aquaculture and Fisheries; Agriculture/Agricultural Extension and Rural Development; Arts/Linguistics and Nigerian Languages.
“Some had been additionally from the Communication and Information Sciences (CIS)/Library and Information Science, CIS/ Telecommunication Science; Education/Adult and Primary Education Studies.
“Others had been from the Department of Engineering and Tech/Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Engineering and Tech/ Materials and Metallurgical Engineering in addition to Life Science/Zoology,’’
Varsity spokesperson mentioned.
He, subsequently, urged college students to shun practices that had been inimical to their tutorial progress, stressing that the college wouldn’t condone or spare those that indulge themselves in such illicit attitudes.
