Kx5 are headed to the L.A. Coliseum in early December for under their second present to date. Ahead of that main outing, deadmau5 and Kaskade have dropped their third collaborative Kx5 single, “Alive.”
The haunting monitor sees the long-lasting duo becoming a member of forces alongside different rock outfit The Moth & The Flame. The band collaborated with Kaskade beforehand on their 2020 effort, “Haunt Me,” a tune which mixed the band’s penchant for dreamy atmospheric soundscapes with the added aptitude of digital arpeggiation and home rhythms from Kaskade.
With “Alive,” the band delves even additional into the home music rabbit gap. Kx5 let the vocals shine within the verse as spacey vocals echo desolately solely to the regular thump of crisp kicks. But the duo construct up the strain to a fever pitch by including densely layered chords, which envelop the monitor’s crescendoing concord within the pre-refrain.

Like their previous singles, Kx5 introduced dynamic progressive home melodies to “Alive” together with moody soundscapes and ominous techno rhythms. The single joins the duo’s debut and sophomore singles, “Escape” and “Take Me High respectively, and stylistically all signs point to Kx5 building what will be one of the most hotly anticipated dance albums of 2023.
