Keyshia Cole is gearing as much as give an unfiltered take a look at her life through her new biographical movie, Keyshia Cole: This is My Story — and he or she’s given followers a sneak peak.

“As a young girl, I survived so many different situations … I always wanted to make a movie about my life,” the singer says within the movie’s teaser trailer, which was launched on Friday (June 2). Check it out under.
The movie can be anticipated to characteristic a brand new tune recorded by Cole — her first solo single since 2021’s “I Don’t Wanna Be in Love.”
“The story follows Keyshia through her early days in Oakland honing her musical talents, to her rise to a multi-platinum selling recording artist and television personality, to her complicated yet warmhearted relationship with her mother Frankie Lons (Debbi Morgan),” an outline of the movie states. “It’s a story of childhood trauma, tragedy, the complexity of love, and overcoming obstacles to become the best version of oneself.”
Ahead of the trailer’s launch, Cole launched an announcement the place she opened up about her inspiration behind the movie. She stated the position allowed her to “re-live” all of the particular moments she took with no consideration.
“This is a story of a daughter’s love for her mother, and although my heart remains broken from her untimely passing, I am honored to be sharing it with the world,” she stated.
Cole continued: “Playing the role of myself was a unique opportunity to re-live special moments in my life that also gave me the chance to process her loss in ways I did not expect. I miss her every day, and even though she is not here, her presence was felt throughout this film. Mom, I love you.”
The singer’s mom, Frankie Lons, handed away in October 2021 resulting from a drug overdose. She was 61 years previous.
