Former Celtic participant Leigh Griffiths has been questioned by police investigating alleged gambling in sport.
Police Scotland carried out an operation in Bothwell, South Lanarkshire, Bonnyrigg in Midlothian and Airdrie in North Lanarkshire on Thursday.
The pressure mentioned three males had been arrested and launched with out cost pending additional inquiries.
A Police Scotland spokesman mentioned: “Following a pre-planned police operation on Thursday 1 December, three men, aged 37, 35 and 32, were arrested in the Bothwell, Bonnyrigg and Airdrie areas in connection with an investigation into alleged gambling incidents in sport.
“All three males had been launched with out cost pending additional inquiries.”
Griffiths, 32, confirmed he spoke to police however mentioned he was not arrested and denied any wrongdoing, the BBC reported.
The footballer scored 123 targets in 261 appearances for Celtic.
The former Livingston, Wolves and Hibernian ahead received the final of his 22 Scotland caps in November 2020.
