This week’s decide for the Small Press Spotlight is a brand new launch from Maamoul Press set to ship this week on December 10. Inside the Giant Fish is a graphic novel by Rawand Issa that was beforehand printed in Arabic in Egypt by Dar Al Mahrousa and can now be launched in an English language version translated by Amy Chiniara.

Searching for her misplaced recollections on a seaside that now not exists, Rawand merges a tumultuous coming-of-age memoir with the consequences of the privatisation of Lebanon’s public seashores, with daring, graphic paintings and poignant storytelling.
Issa is the writer and artist of Maamoul Press’s bestselling guide, The Insubordinate. Based in Lebanon, her work focuses on socio-economic points and documenting actual tales. She can also be the writer of a number of books and zines along with contributing political cartoons and comics to totally different magazines.
