Margot Wood has joined Image Comics as VP of Book Market Sales at Image Comics, the place she’s going to oversee the publishers guide market gross sales efforts and work with their distributor, Simon & Schuster. Wood will report on to Eric Stephenson, Publisher & Chief Creative Officer at Image. Chloe Ramos, Image’s Book Market & Library Sales Manager, will now report back to Wood.
“Everyone remembers those series that got them into comics and for me, they all happen to be from Image,” stated Wood, who’s unrelated to Image’s VP of International Sales & Licensing, Dirk Wood. “The chance to work with these talented creators and incredible staff has been a career goal of mine for a long time. I am beyond excited to bring my knowledge of the Book Market and experience working with the great folks at Simon & Schuster to the team.”
Wood replaces former VP of Sales & Publishing Planning, Matt Parkinson, who left the corporate lately. Her duties at Image don’t appear to incorporate the direct gross sales market, which is at the moment below director Alex Cox.

Wood, a 9 yr publishing business veteran, was beforehand Director of Marketing & Sales at Oni Press and labored in advertising at HarperCollins Publishers. In her time at Oni, she labored on such books as s Bryan Lee O’Malley’s Scott Pilgrim, Katie O’Neill’s The Tea Dragon Society, by Archie Bongiovanni and Tristan Jimerson’ A Quick & Easy Guide to They/Them Pronouns, Brenna Thummler’s Sheets, Maia Kobabe’s Gender Queer, and Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s Rick & Morty comics. At HarperCollins she labored on such graphic novels as, ND Stevenson’s Nimona and Neil Gaiman & P. Craig Russell’s The Graveyard Book Graphic Novel Vol. 1 & Vol. 2.
