Miami Marlins third base coach Jody Reed suffered a damaged leg after getting hit by a line drive foul ball throughout Wednesday’s recreation in opposition to the St. Louis Cardinals.
Marlins supervisor Skip Schumaker stated it occurred early within the recreation, received by the Cardinals 6-4. Schumaker stated the workforce will want a brand new third base coach for the foreseeable future.
Reed, 60, is in his first season as coach and fielding teacher for the Marlins.
Reed performed 11 seasons within the majors with 5 groups, most notably the Boston Red Sox from 1987-92. He was a profession .270 hitter as a center infielder, primarily enjoying second base.
