Miley Cyrus is able to transfer to a brand new stage in her life.
In her new music Used To Be Young, which she dropped Friday, the previous Disney star is opening up about her transition from these “wild” youthful years to now. The 30-12 months-previous uploaded the emotional music video to her YouTube channel on the tenth anniversary of some monumental — and controversial — milestones in her profession: the discharge of her single Wrecking Ball AND her efficiency on the 2013 VMAs.
Yeah, it’s been TEN YEARS because the songstress belted out We Can’t Stop whereas twerking on Robin Thicke stay on MTV! An entire decade! Can you imagine it??

In the introspective ballad, Miley may be seen carrying a classic Mickey Mouse tee (how self-referential!) whereas she tearfully sings:
“The truth is bulletproof / There’s no fooling you / I don’t dress the same / Me and who you say I was yesterday / Have gone our separate ways”
She goes on to sing about how she left the quick life “in the past” and located that “open bars lead to broken hearts”. The refrain is much more emotional, as she mourns the particular person she was once when she was “young”:
“I know I used to be crazy / I know I used to be fun / You say I used to be wild / I say I used to be young”
Damn!! Tear-jerking!!
But the principle factor the Flowers musician appears to be addressing on this music is her lack of regrets. Later, she sings:
“Those wasted nights are not wasted / I remember every one / I know I used to be crazy / That’s cause I used to be young”
Listen to the complete music (beneath):
In a heartfelt submit on Instagram Tuesday, The Climb singer wrote in her music announcement’s caption she’d been writing the lyrics for nearly two years:
“It was at a time I felt misunderstood. I have spent the last 18 months painting a sonic picture of my perspective to share with you. The time has arrived to release a song that I could perfect forever. Although my work is done, this song will continue to write itself everyday. The fact it remains unfinished is a part of its beauty. That is my life at this moment ….. unfinished yet complete.”
The pop star’s iconic but controversial album Bangerz was a giant change in not solely her profession however her public picture. Everyone was shocked and able to give their opinion on the Party In The U.S.A. songstress when she stripped down bare and swung round on a wrecking ball in a Terry Richardson-directed music vid. Instantly iconic, but in addition… solidifying a picture.
And who might neglect THAT second on the VMAs when she turned the world the other way up in that pores and skin-tight two piece as she made lewd gestures with a foam finger and backed that factor up into Robin as he carried out Blurred Lines? Let’s watch once more, for previous occasions’ sake…
Over the years Miley has given us so many alternative variations of herself and her music — all the way in which from her Hannah Montana days to her latest hit album Endless Summer Vacation. We can’t wait to see the place she goes subsequent!
