This previous Friday (March 10), Panic! on the Disco performed their ultimate present (on the AO Arena in Manchester, England). Understandably, it was an emotional occasion not just for attendees however for founding vocalist Brendon Urie, as he shared a really heartfelt message to followers on social media yesterday morning (March 11).
Back in January, Loudwire reported on Urie’s announcement that the band could be ending almost 20 years after it began. Urie acknowledged that “sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. . . . That said, I am going to bring this chapter of my life to an end and put my focus and energy on my family, and with that Panic! At The Disco will be no more.”
Part of the rationale was that he and his spouse, Sarah, had been about to welcome their first baby.
Thus, the group’s tour in help of 2022’s Viva Las Vengeance could be their final, with their present on the AO Arena being their ultimate efficiency ever. Unsurprisingly, they gave concertgoers one hell of an in-depth present, performing over two dozen songs (together with the whole new album and classics akin to “Nine in the Afternoon” and “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”).
The following day, Urie mirrored on his time with Panic! on the Disco through social media, writing:
I’m overcome with gratitude. I simply wish to say thanks from the underside of my coronary heart. For the final 18 years, it is really been an expertise that I’ll at all times be glad about. So should you’ve been with us for 18 years, thanks very a lot. And should you’ve simply joined us, welcome and….farewell. For occasion, one Twitter person wrote: “You came into my life when I was 17. I just lost my dad. Since then I lost my mom and grandmother. But you were the reason I kept going. I’m so sad it’s over but I’m so grateful for all the beautiful memories.” Likewise, a fan on Instagram cheered: “Thanks for everything p!atd. And thanks for all the time you spend with us Brendon.”
