After it was introduced that Wonder Woman 3 was not taking place as a result of it “did not fit in with the new (but still unfolding) plans,” a report surfaced that Jenkins stop the mission after she acquired notes on her therapy from the WB and DC studio executives. It was mentioned that “her threequel pitch had character arc problems which rivaled that of Wonder Woman 1984.”
It was additionally defined that Jenkins “fought back and defended her vision that the threequel’s character arcs were solid. Jenkins was given the opportunity for another pass, but opted to walk.”
Now Jenkins is refuting these experiences saying, “Sigh… I’m not one to talk about private career matters, but I will not allow inaccuracies to continue.” She went on to share her facet of the story:
“When there started being backlash about WW3 not happening, the attractive clickbait false story that it was me that killed it or walked away started to spread. This is simply not true. I never walked away. I was open to considering anything asked of me. It was my understanding there was nothing I could do to move anything forward at this time. DC is obviously buried in changes they are having to make, so I understand these decisions are difficult right now.
“I do not want what has been a beautiful journey with WW to land on negative note. I have loved and been so honored to be the person who got to make these last two Wonder Woman films. She is an incredible character. Living in and around her values makes one a better person every day. I wish her and her legacy an amazing future ahead, with or without me.”
So based on Jenkins, it appears like Warner Bros. and DC Studios simply aren’t enthusiastic about Jankins’ model of Wonder Woman at this level. This simply fuels the hypothesis that there’s an excellent likelihood James Gunn and Peter Safran shall be taking the DC Cinematic Universe in a totally new route.
We’ll simply have to attend and see, however one factor appears sure, and that’s that Jenkins won’t be returning to make one other Wonder Woman film.
