

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a pair for an alleged self-kidnapping scheme geared toward acquiring a N5 million ransom.
The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this in an announcement on Tuesday, as he warned residents to desist from self-kidnapping.
Adejobi added that one Albarka Sukuya in Plateau State was arrested for staging his kidnap on a number of events, and one Nnamdi Agu, additionally faked his kidnap in Abuja in an try and defraud his household.

“In Lagos, a pair was arrested for alleged self-kidnapping scheme geared toward acquiring a N5 million ransom lately.
“The husband, Doubara David Yabrifa, a 53-year-old technician, and the spouse Regina Yabrifa, a 48-year-old physique massager and bone setter, had been apprehended after a member of the family reported the purported kidnapping.
“The couple confessed to planning the self-kidnap to boost N3 million to buy a property in Badagry, Lagos. The husband justified the act, citing monetary difficulties and lack of assist from kinfolk. Both had been arrested and subsequently charged to court docket.
